JSS Medical College is an eminent medical education institution located at Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru, Karnataka, India. College was established in 1984 and is in the lush green campus of 43 acres. JSS Medical College was affiliated to the University of Mysore from 1984 to 1995 and later to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore till 2008. JSS Medical College is now a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (Established under Section-3 of UGC Act) since 28-05-2008. The College is recognized by the Medical Council of India and the college aims at imparting excellent quality medical education that markedly improves the health sector and cater to the need of all strata of the society.

JSS Medical College offers undergraduate course in medicine (M.B.B.S.) with annual intake of 250 seats and postgraduate degree (M.D and M.S & Diploma courses) in 23 different medical disciplines along with 5 super specialty courses, DM Medical Gastroenterology, DM Neurology, DM Nephrology, M.Ch. Urology and M.Ch. Plastic & Re-constructive Surgery. Additionally, the institute offers 13 B.Sc. Biomedical science programmes and M.Sc. in 11 disciplines (Medical Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Clinical embryology, Clinical Psychology, Genetics & Genomics) and Masters in Public Health (MPH), M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology. Institution is offering Fellowship course in Pain Medicine, Psycho Sexual Medicine and Certificate course in Psycho Sexual Medicine. JSS Medical College with the support from JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research and Vision group of Science and Technology (Government of Karnataka) has established Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicine and Centre for Clinical Research Excellence (CCRE), approved as a collegium of Clinical Development Services Agency (CDSA) to promote various research activity and clinical trials. Faculty have been successful in getting research grants sponsored from ICMR, DST, DBT, VGST (Government of India) Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research and other funding agencies. Several projects have been conducted in collaboration with International institutions like Latrobe University, Melbourne, Swedish Heart Lung Foundation, Swedish Karolinska Institutet. Institution has collaborations with various international premiere institutions like Mayo clinic of USA, Khon Khaen University of Thailand, Quinnipiac University, USA, National Institute of Health, UK, to conduct quality research and publication of international standards. Annually more than 530 scientific papers are published in high quality indexed journals. To promote research culture among undergraduate students, the institution has started student research cell through which the students are trained to get successful research grants and publish the scientific data. Faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students also present their scientific works at the national and international academic programmes and have won many prizes.
